Celebration of a life miracle
30 December, 2002 @ 6:33 pm

I've been putting together a scrapbook about this year. I realized that I haven't been taking a lot of pictures this year, so it was kind of hard to put it together with pictures from magazines. But it was still fun to do. Memories are great. My room is a mess now, with whole bunch of papers flying around. I still have loads to do, like find papers from my classes last year and stuff, but the most work there is done. Notebook full of memories is almost done. So basically all I have left to do tomorrow is make food, take some time for myself, write my new year's resolution and stuff like that.

Just in case you didn't know, New Year is the main holiday of the year for Ukrainians. We don't celebrate Christmas as you Americans do. Instead we made New Year this big huge tradition - sitting around the table with lots of food and champagne, and at midnight we hug each other and welcome New Year with toasts. And with New Year we expect to start new life - quit bad habits, be a better person to ourselves as well as others.

I truly love this holiday, I can say it's my favorite. This is not just an excuse to stay up late. It's a celebration of a life miracle.
