Loneliness

There is a piece of my work that I would like to share with you, because I am proud of myself for writing something like that. Maybe I am not that good of writer, but I am on my way to be. This piece is just a fastwrite we did in class - we had to personolize a quality, a feeling, or emotion. I chose loneliness.

~Loneliness by Anastasia F.

Her life is nothing but emptiness. If you wanted to do a movie about her everyday life, you could just film the rain and put some sad songs on the background. From time to time you would hear her weak voice trying to sing along, you would see her eyes, wet with tears, you would feel as bad as she does; as lonely.

She is surrounded by happy people with successful lives, people with best friends, people going to parties, people who have something to do after school. She wants to be one of them, she wants to feel what it is like.

She is starving for attention, for one little sign that she is not dead and forgotten. She reads happy stories about happy people in magazines with bright covers. She can’t be like that. She is always alone.

She would give her whole life for quick minutes spent not alone. She doesn’t care if her life would be happy or sad; at least it would be life, and not just plain existing.

She cries every minute of her life, but she doesn’t show it much. People around her are sure she is happy with her life, and she would do everything to keep them from knowing she is not.

Her life is a black hole that sucked her inside and wouldn’t let go. She is going to be lonely all her life. It’s her fate. But you can save her easily, by giving her your hand, by showing her that you care, by saying sweet words and meaning them, by crying with her. And if you do, then your name truly is Harmony.
